Improving Activities Connected with the Effective Prevention and Combating of Corruption

Corruption is a problem faced by Governments throughout the world. Dealing with corruption in all its forms and raising ethical standards is complex and challenging.

Under Phase I of the Programme Crown Agents provided advice and support to the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance and the relevant agencies on:

Assessment of their anti-corruption capacities
Development of improved anti-corruption strategies and action plans
Development of an MoF anti-corruption map and methodology
Improvement of the technical competence of the agencies
Assistance in the identification of internal fraud and corruption

Assistance was also provided to expand and enhance the role of the State Public Consultative Commission on Support of the Customs Administration Development.
