Reporting & Accountability

A significant feature of the Programme is the degree of control and scrutiny exercised by the Bulgarian Ministry of Finance, which is funding the project. Regular quarterly reports are submitted to the Minister of Finance, containing a description of the activities undertaken, issues or concerns about programme delivery and recommendations for improving the effectiveness of existing control systems.

Monthly summary reports of programme activites are also submitted to the Programme Management Council (see below).

Programme Management Council

Regular supervision is delegated to a Programme Management Council (PMC), which has been established by Order of the Minister of Finance. The PMC is chaired by the Deputy Minister of Finance responsible for Customs and Tax issues. The Council meets every month and Crown Agents attends to answer questions about the latest monthly report and also to report and discuss any other issues of interest or concern.
