The Programme Stakeholder Committee held its regular quarterly meeting on 14th May.  Attendees included Deputy Minister Zhelev, senior representatives from all the key revenue agencies, as well as the World Bank.

The meeting discussed progress made during the first three months of 2008 as well as looking forward to future actions.  It was noted that, in the first nine months of the Programme, Crown Agents had submitted a total of 104 recommendations for improvement of the revenue collection process.

Comments from the participants were extremely positive, particularly in the area of inter-agency cooperation and the organisation of multi-agency exercises.

Deputy Minister Zhelev commended the agencies and Crown Agents for their efforts and underlined the need to further strengthen cooperation between the agencies and with all key stakeholders.

This committee continues to be an important forum where information on the programme and other issues relating to revenue reform can be exchanged and discussed in a positive environment.
