| First Meeting of the New Programme Management Council |

Sofia, October 2009 The Programme Management Council held its first meeting in the Ministry of Finance since the appointment of its new members. The Council is chaired by Rumen Porodzanov, Chief de Cabinet of the Minister of Finance, and includes senior representatives from the National Customs Agency, the National Revenue Agency and other Ministry of Finance departments. Crown Agents was represented by the Team Leader, John Brown. The Programme Management Council meets every month and Crown Agents attends to answer questions about the latest monthly report and also to discuss any other issues of interest or concern. Among the areas discussed during the meeting in October were the Fiscal Crime Coordination Group, a Mobile Assurance Team exercise at Kapitaan Andreevo, excise restructuring within the NCA and the NRA Value Added Tax Registartion Team concept. The next meeting of the PMC will take place in November to review Crown Agents’ next monthly report and/or any other matters pertaining to the programme. |
