Crown Agents supported with a donation the charity initiatives of the International Women’s Club of Sofia. The club has 250 members from 45 nationalities and has been inaugurated 20 years ago with the aim of encouraging cultural exchange among nations. On 6th of December, St. Nicholas Day, the club organised the 15th annual edition of its Christmas Bazaar. The aim this year was to raise money for helping women with health problems, elderly people and social homes for disabled children. Crown Agents’ advisors joined the people attending the event. According to Sonya Petrova, member of the International Women’s Club for 15 years now and regular participant in the charity actions, the bazaar is very well received by people in Bulgaria and has its regular visitors. Speaking to Bulgarian National Radio she said: “The bazaar is the event in which we collect money for the projects the Women’s Club is working on. There is a charity foundation with the club, which has been officially registered according to Bulgarian laws. The aim of the foundation is to help people in a disadvantageous position. We are not working with separate persons but rather with organizations. Our help is targeted at orphanages, disabled children and elderly people. One of the programmes is directed to provide scholarships for children without parental care. The members of our club are wives of diplomats and of businessmen.” |
